Full day tours
Get the most out of your day with the full day tours that we offer on a daily basis. All day long you will have a front row seat in experiencing Norway at its best. Everything is taken care of. The only thing you have to do is enjoy.
The pride of the region is at our doorstep. The Hardangervidda mountain plateau is just around the corner. We bring you by car to some of the highlights that this National park offers. First we stop at Norway’s most famous waterfall ‘Vøringfossen’ where water plunges a staggering 182 meters down in the Måbødalen valley. Further up the road you will get an unforgettable experience of life on the mountain plateau while we do a short trekking through this rough deserted terrain. On our way back we make a stop at ‘Kjeasen’ mountain farm (culture) or the energy museum (history) which will both give you a sense of how life was in Norway until quite recently and for some part still is.
A Norwegian “must do”! Lace your boots tightly and bring your camera! This day long guided trekking will take you on climb up to the world famous Trolltunga cliff at 1100 meters altitude. The view will take your breath away while you are standing on a small piece of rock 700 meters above Ringedalsvatnet lake. The trail is 11 kilometers long and goes through steep forest terrain, moon-like flatlands, marshes, snowfields and a rocky mountain trail. This is Norway at its best!
This is truly a trip to look forward to! The tour is guided and consists of a hike in unspoiled mountains and off the beaten track. We descend in a 100-meter vertical (50˚) shaft and walk through a tunnel to an opening in the mountain wall 800 meters above the ground! After this exciting experience we head for Austdalshytte (our mountain cabin). Along the way to the cabin, if so wished, we can do some easy climbing.
You haven’t been in Norway when you haven’t seen it from the fjord side! Not that long ago the fjords where the highways of Norway. We will take you back to that time on this guided sightseeing boat and trekking tour. You will discover many interesting fjord side locations and a guide will tell the stories behind them. Not only the views are incredible but also the historic and cultural value of the sights will trigger your imagination of how life was in this part of Norway, until about 50 years ago. During this extended version we go ashore on 2 occasions. First we visit an ancient secret religious meeting place in the rocks. The second trip ashore reveals how small communities – that where only accessible by boat - were organized to live in a self-sustaining way.
