“A stay at Hardanger Basecamp is all about getting “Back to Nature – Back to Basics” in a Authentic, comfortable, and truly unique way.
Located right by the shore of the famous Hardangerfjord – often called the ‘Queen of the Fjords’- you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking scenery, with steep mountains rising up to 1,000 meters that are part of the breathtaking “Hardangervidda” mountain plateau. 

Here at Hardanger Basecamp, we offer a unique stay in our glamping yurt resort. Each yurt is cozy and welcoming, with a natural, homey atmosphere created by antique and handmade furniture, soft animal skins, antlers, and carefully chosen decorative items

​​​​​​​In addition to the also included breakfast pancake buffet, it is possible to have lunch in the Osa Kafeen. We offer unique products and dishes with a lot of ingredients we handpicked from nature ourselves or provided by local farms. 

If you prefer a more hands-on experience, you can also cook your own meals over the campfire. Simply book the ‘Cook Add-on’ alongside your accommodation. On the terrace outside your yurt, you’ll find a wooden box with all the cooking utensils and cutlery you need for your stay.

Yurt

Just a 15-minute drive from our hotel in Ulvik, the yurts at Hardanger Basecamp in Osa offer a peaceful escape surrounded by nature. Nestled on the edge of the fjord, they combine rustic charm with modern comfort, with stunning views, cozy interiors, and a tranquil wilderness setting.

Yurts are available for up to 4, 8, or 10 guests, all with heating, electricity, and the same comfort and amenities. Each pair of yurts shares a small entrance area and a large covered fireplace, perfect for enjoying a campfire together. Firewood is included, and daily housekeeping ensures fresh towels, empty bins, and refilled wood.

Breakfast is included, with additional meals available in Osa Kafeen.

Make your stay at Hardanger Basecamp even more special with our optional ‘Cook Add-on’, available alongside your accommodation booking.

This Add-on lets you enjoy a true ‘back to basics – back to nature’ experience, cooking your own meals over the campfire.

At check-in, you’ll receive a code for the wooden box on the terrace outside your yurt. Inside this box, you’ll find all the cooking utensils, cutlery, and a fire-starting kit you need for your stay.

Groceries can be picked up at the supermarkets in Ulvik, and a refrigerator is available in the sanitary facility to keep your food and drinks cool.
